Dragon drink 2_small

Cut a small wedge on the underside of the fruit, so it will rest on the glass and look as though it is lapping up the drink.

Pour the chilled drink into a cocktail glass and garnish with a slice of Sapota fruit!  (Can be found at any Asian grocery store.)

When I was creating this Harry Potter Halloween CLUE I decided that Pub Food would be best served here.  The Leaky Cauldron and The Three Broomsticks are places where Harry does eat, and the kinds of foods they serve are things like Fish and Chips, and Bangers and Mash.  So that is what we wanted for our Harry Potter CLUE dining.

Everything was delicious!

Our Pub Food

Our Fish and Chips was Courtesy of Long John Silver’s

I know we cheated by not making this ourselves but it is o.k. to save some time and devote it to other areas for our Harry Potter Halloween.

Halloween Bangers and Mash

Your favorite Brauts…

Red, Orange and Green Bell Peppers – sliced

1 1/2 Vidalia Onions – sliced

3 Tbsp. Olive Oil

1 Bottle of Beer

2 lbs of Blue Potatoes

6 Tbsp Butter

1/2 Cup Milk

Salt and Pepper to Taste

(We did consult our British friends about making the “mash.’  I figured that she would know better than us.  Thank you Heidi!)

In a large saute pan with olive oil, saute the onions and bell pepper trio slices on medium heat.

Cook them until they are flaccid and slightly caramelized.

Stir them occasionally, so they will cook evenly.

In a water and beer mixture, at just under a boil, cook your brauts until almost done through.

This process will take about 10 min.

The beer I used was a UFO brand, which gave the brauts some good flavoring.

Grill the brauts over med. heat until the internal temperature reaches 165’F.

Getting good grill marks is key!

The Blue Potatoes at Left, Warming the Peppers and Onions at Right.

This is Sooooooo Good!

The Mash

Boil your potatoes until done in a large pot… this takes about 12 min. to complete.

Pour your cooked potatoes into a colander to drain.

Place them back in the boiling pot…

Add your butter to the boiled potatoes and mash them slightly with a potato masher.

Add your milk to the potatoes and mash a little more until you have your desired consistency.

Add salt and pepper to taste.

Be sure not to over mash them or the mixture will turn pasty.
