Beauty and the Beast Holidays

Delicious Rose Cupcake, and my Belle Snow Globe
When our daughter Veronica was 5 we took her to Disney World in Orlando, Florida. We were with my parents, grandmother, and my brother’s. The big Disney movie at the time was the animated version of Beauty and the Beast. Veronica loved it! And needless to say, we collected a few nice Beauty and the Beast souvenir’s to take home with us. We were staying at one of the resorts at the time, Disney’s Old Key West Resort.
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast
The story is about a selfish prince who lives a life of arrogance who is then cursed by a mysterious enchantress having altered his appearance from a handsome man to that of a beast. The castle servants also fall into the spell and turn into the manor’s furnishings.
Bimbette, the Feather Duster, Mrs. Potts, the Tea Pot, Cogsworth, the Clock, Lumier, the candlestick, and Chip, the Tea Cup
————————————-
The only way the spell could ever be broken was for the prince to change into a nicer person and have someone fall in love with him and for him to love in return.
Enter Belle……
Tale as Old as Time….
True as it can be
Barely even friends
Then somebody bends
Unexpectedly
Small to say the least
Both a little scared
Neither one prepared
Beauty and the Beast

Ever a surprise
Ever as before
And ever just as sure
As the sun will rise,

And ever a surprise,
Ever as before
And ever just as sure
As the sun will rise
Tune as old as song,
Bitter-sweet and strange
Finding you can change
Learning you…

Certain as the sun
Rising in the east
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the Beast
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the BeastBeauty and
Beauty and the Beast

With the release of the new Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, and Luke Evans, I wanted to recreate a little homage to the story and the lesson of how being kind surpasses good looks and the importance of recognizing those qualities in others.
Because the movie takes place in France I wanted Gordon to create a nice cocktail in the honor of the movie, but I also wanted my favorite French food, which is the Quiche.

The Cupcake I bought at Disney Springs from their bakery and this is a Beauty and the Beast Cupcake.
We ate our Quiches, drank our Cocktails, ate Candied Coated Almonds, and my Cupcake.

This Beauty and the Beast blog post is about our Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween where we ate at the Be Our Guest Restaurant, and our Christmas Visit with Family. We visited the park twice. It is also our love of the story itself.
What I love about Belle the most is her love of reading books.

In our Dining Room we created a lovely Beauty and the Beast Dessert Table with lots of Belle Christmas Gifts.
Tree Topper Belle
(Every girl got a Belle ornament to take home.)
I also made several Beauty and the Beast themed cupcakes.
The recipe was easy, just a plain white cake mix with a royal icing with yellow food coloring added, then the accents of sugar roses and even some of the characters from the movie. I had purchased several of the child’s toy characters to use as cake toppers.

Our Beauty and the Beast Cocktail
Ingredients
1 Shot Triple Sec.
1 Shot Cointreau (Orange Liqueur)
5 Shots Whiskey Sour Mix
1 Shot Lemon Juice
10 Ice Cubes
1 Shot Grenadine Syrup (1/2 per drink)
Reddi Whip
Pink Sugar Crystals
In a blender, add your Triple Sec.
Cointreau
and Whiskey Sour mix.
Then add your lemon juice and…..
Ice cubes. Blend the mixture until smooth.
Pour the mixture into the glasses, leaving about 3/4 of an inch from the top of the glass.
Add your Grenadine Syrup, pouring it down the center of the drink.
Due to the weight of the Grenadine, the syrup will rest on the bottom of the glass.
Here you can see the touch of red at the bottom of the glass.
Starting at the center, squirt your Reddi Whip using a circular motion around the glass ending in the center. Top with pink sugar!
Beautiful and Tasty!

Vivien’s Belle Dress
We bought our niece Vivien a replica of the new Beauty and the Beast dress worn by Emma Watson in the newest movie. I’m happy to say that she loved it! Wore it quite often and posed for photos for us as Belle.
